The dealer never provided me with the key so I cut the spare tire carrier and removed the lock. I realized after I got it out that I could have removed the lock without cutting the carrier. Just twist and pull the plastic tube then pry the lock out with a screwdriver. Deflating the spare might help. I ended up just welding the carrier back together.

"I've replied to this issue a dozen times! 2 feet of extensions, a cheap 9/16" 6 point socket, a ten pound sledge. Drive the socket over the key. Crank to lower. Start to finish is 3 minutes- tire on the ground. It works great every time!"
